AARA – It’s Time To Expand Funding for Addiction Recovery Programs

The American Addiction Recovery Association supports increased and enhanced funding for peer-led addiction recovery programs.

The American Addiction Recovery Association appreciates the bipartisan leadership surrounding the recent matter of a potential realignment of funding. AARA strongly urges moving forward with bipartisan consensus to expand, not reduce, programs and funding to support Americans impacted by the Addiction Epidemic.

The number one cause of death for Americans 18-45 is fentanyl poisoning and overdose – the science of the disease commands America to increase not decrease funding for programs to help Americans impacted by the Addiction Epidemic.

The American Addiction Recovery Association calls on the Trump Administration to convene a national conversation, both in person and virtual, with peer-led addiction recovery organizations to discuss best practices to expand efficient programs and funding to save lives, restore families, and strengthen communities across the United States.

It is essential America move to a posture where support for people impacted by the Addiction Epidemic transcends partisan politics.
