Addiction Epidemic Conversation With Special Guest Congressman Austin Scott

In Partnership With: The Georgia Council for Recovery and OASIS Recovery Community Organizations

TIFTON—Join Congressman Austin Scott for a Conversation on Addiction and the Opioid Epidemic hosted by the American Addiction Recovery Association in partnership with the Georgia Council for Recovery and OASIS Recovery Community Organization.

This meeting is FREE and open to the public. Everyone in Tifton and Tift County, as well as the surrounding communities, are invited to attend and learn more about the opioid epidemic, how it is affecting our community, and what steps are being taken to address those issues.

The event is being hosted by the American Addiction Recovery Association (AARA) in partnership with the Georgia Council for Recovery (GC4R), and OASIS Recovery Community Organization (Overcoming Addiction with Sobriety, Information and Support).

Representatives from several organizations will be present in addition to Congressman Scott to provide our community with information about the Addiction Epidemic and efforts being made to address the number one cause of death for Americans 18-45.

Those in attendance will be encouraged to participate in the conversation by offering suggestions as to what can be done to assist those with a substance use disorder, as well as how to support their families and loved ones.

OASIS is a Tift County recovery community organization whose purpose is to assist individuals with a substance use disorder, as well as to offer support to their families and loved ones. OASIS is located at 902 South Main Street in Tifton and staffcan be reached at (229) 396-5900.
