America wants CNN Ask an Addiction Question 

Atlanta, GA – The American Addiction Recovery Association (AARA) calls on the debate moderators to ask President Biden and President Trump what their plans are to support addiction as a medical issue to include prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and recovery.

Here are the facts; we ask, what are their plans to eliminate the issue and help America recover:

• There is no medial issue impacting Americans in a more direct and serious manner than addiction
• The Number One cause of death in the United States for people 18 – 45 is overdose
• There are 150 million Americans directly impacted by addiction including survivors and families
• There are 29 million Americans in recovery and 46 million Americans in active addiction
• On average there are 200 overdoses a day in the United States
• 150 million Americans want a question on addiction in the debate tonight
